1.Dr.Nixon Abraham, an Indian scientist who hails from Thrissur/Kerala and works in the Laboratory of Sensory Perception and Plasticity in the Department of Fundamental Neuroscience of the University of Geneva, grabs international attention by his research on speed of brain. His findings were published in Neuron (Vol.65/Feb.11) an internationally reputed neuro-science journal.

2.NR Madhava Menon is a member of the Task Force which drafted National Commission on Higher Education and Research (NCHER) Bill.

3.W.Selvamurthy, Chief Controller (Life Sciences & Human Resource), DRDO has been chosen for DRDO's Technology Leadership Awards-2008.

4.The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) condemned the recent Maoists' attack on Eastern Frontier Rifle jawans. Maja Daruwala is the Director of CHRI.

5.France will sell Russia a $750 million Mistral Amphibious Assault Ship.

6.India's Shree Renuka Sugars has entered into a definitive agreements with Groupo Equipo SA (a leading Brazilian conglomerate with equity in more than 20 companies) to acquire a 50.8% stake in it for $329 million (Rs.1530 Cr.).

7.Edwards E.Whitcare, Chief and Chairman of General Motors, will receive an annual compensation of $9 million.
